In southwest coastal Bangladesh—a global hotspot for arsenic contamination and seawater intrusion—our deployed Pure-Solar Drinking Water Systems recently passed random inspections by the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC). Data shows that utilizing PV-driven RO reverse osmosis and electrochemical arsenic removal, the units reduce raw water arsenic from 0.15 mg/L to 0.004 mg/L and salinity from 6,000 mg/L to below 200 mg/L—far exceeding WHO standards. Notably, the units operate completely off-grid, with battery storage sustaining 3 days of continuous production during cloudy weather. Local women's cooperatives have taken over O&M, achieving financial sustainability through affordable water sales. To date, our drinking water units in Bangladesh have logged over 30,000 safe operating hours.
