The reverse osmosis water filter process uses semi-permeable spiral-wound membranes to remove dissolved solids, organics, pyrogens, submicron colloids, and bacteria from water. Feed water passes through the membranes at a pressure of approximately 16 kg/cm²; water permeates the membrane pores to become purified water, while impurities are concentrated in the reject stream and flushed out. It can remove 90-99% of the total dissolved solids (TDS), 99% of the organics (including pyrogens), and 99% of all bacteria from the feed water.
